Christoper Gowers will be running a shuttle bus (Wolvercote Community Bus) to the farm from outside the Chinese takeaway on Godstow Road in Lower Wolvercote. First pick-up will be 3.30pm, second at 3.45pm and last pick-up will be 4.00pm. The Community Bus will return people from the farm to Wolvercote at 6pm, and then again at 8pm - have a chat with Christopher when you're picked up to confirm return timings.
The barn is in the farmyard of the FAI Farm in Wytham (OX2 8QJ), which you can reach by car or bicycle via Wolvercote, or via a slip road off the A34 from Botley. The farm is approximately 5 miles from the centre of Oxford, to the north-west of the city. There is no public transport to the farm, but the closest bus stop is #6 in Wolvercote (Home Close). There is ample parking at the farm - signs will indicate where you can park.
If you are driving from Wolvercote, the turning for the farm will be a sharp right off the Godstow Road as you enter the village of Wytham. (This turning is signposted 'University Field Station and Village Hall'.) If you are driving from Botley, the slip road signposted for Wytham brings you into the village, and then the turning for the farm will be a left turn as the road bends sharply right.
Do not use SatNav, as the postcode often takes visitors to Wytham Woods instead of to the farm! If you have any queries, email Simon at [email protected], or on the day ring this number for advice: 07971 997010 (Sarah).
Please also note that neither the long farm drive, nor the stretch of Godstow Road between Wytham and Wolvercote has street lighting - so make sure you can leave the farm safely in the dark!
